  1. `term' v4.1a update
  2. ===================
  3. This patch fixes a number of problems in v4.1, as there are:
  4.  
  5. - The serial parameters were not set up correctly.
  6.  
  7. - HydraCom could cause `term' to hang upon startup.
  8.  
  9. - The widths of all numeric entry fields in the rates settings
  10.   panel was increased.
  11.  
  12. - When called from the phonebook, the "Standard" button as
  13.   shown by the translation table settings panel will cause
  14.   the translation settings to be reset to standard values.
  15.  
  16. - Text stored in the buffer did not get bit 8 stripped if
  17.   this feature was enabled in the serial settings.
  18.  
  19. - The transfer panel did not really respect the current `alert'
  20.   settings; it would always bring the `term' screen to the
  21.   front.
  22.  
  23. - `term' no longer requires you to set the tool stack to
  24.   16,384 bytes; it will do the magic all on its own.
  25.  
  26. In addition to this, a patch for "gtlayout.library" is available
  27. which fixes a number of bugs in the user interface.

  47. How to apply this patch?
  48. ========================
  49. Copy the relevant patch file to the drawer your `term' v4.1 program
  50. is found in. If you are using the special '030 version, copy
  51. term-41a-030.pch, otherwise copy term-41a-any.pch. Copy "spatch"
  52. into the same drawer, then enter the following:
  53.  
  54.    spatch -pterm-41a-030.pch term
  55.  
  56. or
  57.  
  58.    spatch -pterm-41a-any.pch term
  59.  
  60. depending on which patch file you copied. It will take a while to
  61. apply the patch; this will create the file "term.new". Now enter
  62. the following:
  63.  
  64.    Rename term term.old
  65.    Rename term.new term
  66.  
  67. Finally, copy the file "gtlayout.library" into this drawer.
  68. You can now delete the files "spatch", "term-41a-any.pch" and
  69. "term-41a-030.pch" from the current drawer. If you copied the
  70. old "gtlayout.library" release to the "Libs:" drawer, delete
  71. it now and reboot your machine.

  76. Keep your old `term' v4.1 release around, *do not* delete it!
  77. Subsequent patches may be released which may fix additional bugs.
